U4GM Where To Look For Prickly Pears ARC Raiders Guide

Let's be real for a second, Scrappy is easily the best companion you can get in the game. We all love the little guy. But if you actually want him to be useful instead of just a cute mascot following you around, you've got to upgrade his scavenging skills. That means you need Prickly Pears. It sounds super easy on paper, right? You just walk up to a cactus and grab a fruit. If only it were that simple. These things are surprisingly rare, and the game doesn't exactly hold your hand. You can spend hours wandering the wasteland, checking every plant, and come up empty. It’s a grind that can really test your patience, especially when you are trying to gather other ARC Raiders Items to flesh out your build at the same time. You aren't just fighting the environment; you're fighting the RNG, and sometimes it feels like the game is winning.

Where You Should Actually Look

So, where are these elusive fruits hiding? The general theory is that they spawn around the Buried City outskirts, the northwest side of Dam Battlegrounds, and near the Spaceport. That’s what the maps suggest, anyway. But in practice? It’s a total toss-up. I spent an entire evening running the northwestern edge of the Dam, expecting a huge haul, and I found absolutely nothing. Zero. It’s incredibly frustrating when the loot tables don't match your effort. If you want a tip from someone who’s wasted too much time staring at empty cacti, head to Marano Park. It’s the central Nature loot zone in Buried City. It’s not a guaranteed drop every time, but I’ve managed to pull two or three pears in a single run there. It feels way more consistent than the other "recommended" spots. Just stick to the nature zones and check the base of every single cactus you pass.

Secure the Goods Immediately

This is the most critical part of the hunt. When you finally see a Prickly Pear on the ground, don't hesitate. Shove that thing straight into your Safe Pocket. Do not risk losing it to some random sniper camping a ridge. The best part is that there’s no "found in raid" requirement for this upgrade. As long as you make it back to Speranza with the item in your pocket, you’re golden. You need a total of six Prickly Pears, along with six Olives and a Cat Bed to finish the job. Once you have them secured, you can hand them over and finally upgrade Scrappy. It’s a relief when you get that last one banked.

Don't Stop Scavenging

Here’s a piece of advice: don't stop collecting them once your bird is happy. Seriously, keep hoarding. The Expeditions system requires a massive amount of Provisions value later on. I managed to stack up nearly 150,000 Coin pretty early just by saving all the produce and valuables I found instead of selling them one by one. You never know what random item will become essential for a future event or update. I like to keep a stash of everything, just in case. Plus, if you find yourself short on cash or resources, looking for cheap ARC Raiders Items to supplement your stash is always an option to keep your economy floating. It is always better to have a stockpile than to be stuck grinding for hours when you’d rather be shooting stuff.Equip your character with premium ARC Raiders gear from u4gm.com, ensuring better performance in every encounter.
